To use this number sense math activity, students will follow these steps:
1. Roll the dice.
2. Add up the dots and find the corresponding number on the mat and cover it.
3. Keep rolling and covering numbers until all of the spaces have been covered.
Play with a Partner!
Students can also play with a partner. Students will take turns rolling dice and covering a spot on the mat while using different manipulatives to cover their spaces. Once the mat is full, count up the spaces you covered. Who covered more spaces? That person wins the game! Or they can work cooperatively to see how fast they can cover all the spaces on the mat.
