Editable Sight Word Building Cards

$7.00

These sight word building cards will make learning sight words a fun, hands-on experience.

Type in any 12 words that you want to work on and the sight word cards will auto-populate with 10 different font choices per word!

Each font represents a different manipulative that students can use to build the sight words - or even spelling words!

With 10 different ways to build words, students will stay engaged and excited about learning!

Here are the 10 different sight word building cards:

  • Pattern blocks
  • Snap cubes
  • Building bricks
  • Play dough
  • Pom poms
  • Letter tiles
  • Letter beads
  • Alphabet snap cubes
  • Bottle caps
  • Secret code

Students will use the manipulative represented on the card to make the word.

This is such a fun, hands-on way to learn sight words!

These do not come in black and white, but since only the borders are in color, it is very easy to print in black and white or grayscale.

Note: Due to the VAT, we ask that those of you in Europe purchase our products on Teachers Pay Teachers.

After purchasing this product, you MUST open it with Adobe Reader. You can get it for FREE here: https://get.adobe.com/reader/otherversions/

If you do not open it with Adobe Reader, the formatting and fonts will not display correctly. This is the only way the editable fields will work.

Also, if you try to do this on a Chromebook, tablet or a phone, it usually does not work. Even if you are using Adobe on the device, it does not show the embedded fonts. You will need to do it on a regular computer.

Les Grenouilles de Madame - French Immersion

EDITABLE!! I love that I can use my own words to make fun word building activities. I teach in French, and it is hard to find fun resources like this one with the words I want/need - since it's editable, I can use any words that my students need to work on. They love all the options and when they've done a manipulative type once, they always know what to do, which makes set up/instruction time much quicker!

The Kinder Cottage

Let me start by saying that I love the idea of this resource! I love that I can type my own words in for my students to practice! The thing I don't like (and it might totally be something I can fix when I have time to look at it more closely) is that they are so small since it's 2/page. I would prefer to have them 1/page in order to have my students use them as a puzzle/mat rather than a picture card for them to try to solve by just seeing it, if that makes sense. Again, I love that it's editable, I love that I can make any words I want, and I love the amount of ways to build the words. I just wish there was also a 1/page option so that they were more to scale for the ones that are building with unifix cubes, shapes, playdough, etc.

I totally understand what you are saying and I wanted it to work this way too. The problem is that even with 1 per mat, the width can't be any wider. That would only change the height. Also, Adobe doesn't allow the font to auto-size beyond 140 pt, which is what we have it set to. Then it auto adjusts down from there depending on the length of the word. As you can see in the pictures on the listing, the word 'and' doesn't extend any wider because Adobe is maxing out at 140 font size. Some of the fonts are larger than others at 140 pt, but that is due to the way the font is created and not anything that we can control. Also, we have to use a font to do this, rather than clip art, because that is the only way to make it editable. Hope that helps make sense of why it was created this way. Thanks for the feedback!
